HeroesXP is a 2-day nerd and anime convention in Cologne, established as a highlight for fans of cosplay, anime, and pop culture. The focus of this event includes entertainment, cosplay, shopping, artists, gaming, and exciting encounters. These conventions provide a great opportunity to connect with like-minded people and immerse yourself in the world of anime and nerd culture.

Celebrity guests such as EOSAndy, Tom Wlaschiha, Claus-Peter Damnitz, and Dirk Meyer were on-site, available for photos, conversations, and autographs. Events like these offer a unique opportunity to experience stars up close.

HeroesXP took place at the Stadthalle Cologne, a venue known for its manageable size. Despite the compact space, the convention was well organized, and visitors could enjoy a wide variety of events and activities. The fair offered an intimate atmosphere where fans, artists, and celebrity guests could easily interact.

HeroesXP opened on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 12:00 to 20:00, with entry starting at 11:30, and on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 10:00 to 17:00, with entry starting at 09:30. A highlight on Saturday evening was the performance by the band “Tag der Helden,” which thrilled the audience with cover songs from popular anime and childhood shows.

HeroesXP was a small but charming convention, ideal for fans who appreciate a relaxed atmosphere and approachable celebrity guests. While the event felt a bit too small for my taste, as we saw everything within an hour, the activities and events, such as the “Tag der Helden” concert, ultimately made the day unforgettable.

EOSAndy, known from Twitch, YouTube, and Instagram, offered exclusive and free cosplay photoshoots at HeroesXP. The convention had booked him specifically for this event, giving fans the opportunity to be photographed by one of the most well-known cosplay photographers. Andy, who also covers the “Friendly Fire” event each year, will capture the best moments in pictures there as well.

EOSAndy has made a name for himself in cosplay and LARP photography by capturing the diversity of this scene in stunning images. His goal is to tell stories and showcase characters in the perfect light. Numerous well-known figures from the international cosplay scene have already posed for his camera. He especially enjoys working with new creations from talented costume designers around the world to create atmospheric images that highlight the detail and craftsmanship of the costumes.

Action and sports photography has also long been a great passion for him, presenting a photographic challenge that he approached with great dedication.

While action and sports photography still fascinates him, his focus has shifted significantly. After over five years of intensive work as a photographer at cheerleading championships in countries such as Denmark, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland, he increasingly lost enthusiasm for the long days and the wear on his equipment.

Today, EOSAndy has found his niche in people and fantasy photography—and feels very comfortable there.

The band Tag der Helden consists of eight talented musicians who delivered an unforgettable performance at their last show during HeroesXP at the Stadthalle Cologne. The approximately two-hour show began at 8 PM, featuring legendary intro songs from anime and cartoons such as One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Ghostbusters in modern arrangements. The band members—Delio, Konnie Crash, Alex, Steinbrecher, Hannes, Heubodenboy, Conni, and Stanky—played with palpable passion and contributed with great charisma to the relaxed and energetic atmosphere, letting the audience bask in nostalgia.

With the stage presence and dedication of each member, Tag der Helden ensured that the show was impressive not only musically but also personally, prompting the audience to sing along loudly and dance.
